I have a question regarding a protection order in ohio.I have a 16 year old daughter who has a 19 year old man who she considers a boyfriend. It started when she was 15. When we found out we put a stop to it. We feel she is too young. There has been sexual contact as well. HOwever she was 16 at the time, the age of consent. The man has been warned several times to stay away from her and have no contact with her by us. We have restricted all ways she would have to contact him. My daughter isnt the one who doesnt want contact with him, it is our wish. Can we do anything legally to restrict their contact at least til she is 18?
Optional Information: Country relating to Question: United States State (if USA): Ohio Already Tried: just here
Certainly. At 16 she is still a minor and you can apply for an injunction through the court keeping him away from her. You will want to use lawyer because injunctions are difficult and you will also want to word the injunction in a way that not only keeps him from contacting her but also addresses what he is supposed to do if she contacts him.If you would like any additional information or have more questions please don’t hesitate to ask but please do so my clicking on the Reply to Expert tab.We work for Positive Ratings, please click on one of the top three ratings or one of the Smile Faces, as this would be appreciated.
