Where is my reply??
Thank you for using Just Answer. If you require clarification, please feel free to post a follow up question. If the judge would not allow the attorney to withdraw he will be held in contempt if he does not appear. In the meantime you need to find a new attorney. While JA Experts are prohibited from representing JA customers or referring specific attorneys, the following link is often used by attorneys themselves when seeking co-counsel outside of their expertise or jurisdiction: http://www.martindale.com/Find-Lawyers-and-Law-Firms.aspx. You should also file a disciplinary complaint against the attorney with the state bar.
Over 25 years experience representing clients.
The judge did not say to me he is in contempt. He just said twice "He can't do that" and proceeded with the hearing. He said I did not need an attny. in a civil case. I was not permitted to ask for continuance. I needed an advocate because i am learning disabled. I have my lawyers letter that he was going to represent me today. As did the judge. Why would the judge not give me time to find a lawyer? It was not my fault.
I agree with you the judge should not have forced you to proceed in view of the misconduct of your attorney.
Now what?? I have a judge And a lawyer that violated my rights. How can I go against these powerful people?? Am I not allowed an atty. I paid for in a civil trial???
I can not answer for the judge, I was not there, but, for what it is worth, I believe the judge was wrong. You have a claim for malpractice against the attorney.Find another attorney as fast as you can.
what is the easiest way to file acomplaint to the Bar Assoc., please????
The following link has the complaint form and instructions for filing the grievance: http://www.courts.state.md.us/attygrievance/complaint.htmlPlease do not leave negative ratings to ask follow up questions.
I have no printer. Where can I get a malpractice form to complain about my attys neglect, and failure to appear?
If you save the form to a thumb drive you can have it printed at a FedEx store or at the library.
You rock Lawguy ! Can I file a charge at the Distict Court. That is nearby.
Thanks. The form that I provided is for disciplinary action. The filing instructions are on the form. To file a civil action I strongly advise you retain a malpractice attorney. They will do your case on a contingency fee basis so you will not have to pay out of pocket.
