I just got ticketed for reckless driving in michigan and the michigan state police wrote the ticket because of a complaint by 3 different people. They said I was driving crazy and fast by there house. Before the police got to the scene two of the people were chasing me on foot while i was in the car. One person had a screw driver and the other person was unarmed. They both said stop the car so they can rip my head off. How do I get out of this reckelss ticket
First, these witnesses will need to show up in court to testify as to how you were driving and then it would be up to the trier of fact to determine. Second, one defense you can claim is that you were in fear for your life by these people chasing you with weapons, which is why you were driving in that manner, but if they can show you were driving recklessly prior to chasing you, then that defense would not be successful I am afraid.

the police officer noted that there were no burnout marks anywhere and at no point did i go off the road. I am a combat veteran and I will take this to a jury trial if it goes that far
I am going to wear my dress blues and say that I honor the uniform and this country and would never put people in harms way.
Is that a good idea? . like I said the officer noted that there were no burnout marks. How can I end this quick without taking it to a jury trial?
Unfortunately, if there are witnesses against you, there is no way to "end this quick" and you have to go to trial and present your evidence as to how you were not driving recklessly.
