My mother inlaw is a teacher in MD. She just received a 36 month felony sentance for wire Fraud. Can she still teach until she has to report for her jail time?

Hello,I am researching your issue and will be right back with you! Thank you!
Hello,While I cannot provide you specific legal advice, if her license is suspended or revoked, she obviously cannot teach. Here is a link that explains the standards under Maryland law for suspending or revoking a teacher's license.http://www.dsd.state.md.us/comar/comarhtml/13a/13a.12.05.02.htmI could not find a self-reporting requirement in Maryland that requires her to report a conviction. To be sure, you can contact the Bureau of Teacher Education and Certification(NNN) NNN-NNNN or a local attorney to be certain.Let me know if you have any other specific questions! I hope this helps.
