I have my first unemployment hearing tomorrow morning by telephone. I am contesting a claim that was originally ruled against my business. they then amended the finding and ruled against the company. the employee appeal the amended determination. any advice while on this call?

The employee will have a new story to tell, and he/she will try to explain around the reason for the adverse ruling. Stick to the facts that you have already stated previously. Don't let your annoyance with the employee's change of story cause you to try to change yours to overcome the employee's changes, because then the judge will wonder if you are the one who is misrepresenting the facts.
