I may be sued by a party who owes me for the salvage and repair of some expensive equipment. He wants his equipment back, but refuses to pay for the salvage and repair. How long will I have to respond if he files to recovery the equipment?
Optional Information: State/Country relating to Question: Tennessee Already Tried: I have responded to his lawyers 10-day collection letter, clearly explaining what is owed before the equipment can be reclaimed.
Have you filed a mechanic's lien?
not yet. Do I have to give 30 days notice for that?
(what an awesome service...you are my hero)
You have 1 year from your last date of work to file a mechanic's lien.
great. and I am not required to notify him that the lien is being placed. right?
