I have been dating this girl for 2 1/2 years or so. I am 18 and she is 17. We got together when I was 15 1/2 and she was 14 1/2. Is there a law saying we should not be together or engage in any sexual intercourse?
Hello,

So sorry to hear of this dilemma. If my answer is not clear to you, please ask me for clarification by using the reply button.

Currently the age of consent in Idaho is 16. Therefore it is not illegal for an 18 and 17-year-old to engage in sexual intercourse.. You may read the statute at this link:

So if we were to engage in any sexual act together would "I" being the male and 18 years of age need any consent/permission from her parents/legal guardians? Also if we were to engage in any sexual activity both willing would either of our parents be able to press charges against one of the two of us?

The consent of the parents is not required and neither parent can press charges. It is legal

Thank you.

I see there that it does make it legal for us to do so.

I found this though.

Please read lines 8 through 12. So does this then make it illegal?

You are reading an outdated statute. The site you gave is from 2003 -- it was revised. The link that I gave you is 2011
