what if you've signed a lease agreement and have taken the vehicle but now want to purchase the vehicle instead is that an option? I believe in the state of NJ you have the option to terminate a contract within 3 days.

That would be something that you would need to negotiate with the dealership if they would be willing to switch the lease agreement to a purchase and sale agreement. If not, then you would likely have the option of buying the at the end of the lease, if you were still interest at that time.
