Thank you for using JustAnswer!

Was anyone criminally charged for possession of marijuana?

As a general matter, nothing can be or should be done.

Possession of marijuana is illegal. Officers have discretion on how to handle matters. For example, when a person is stopped for speeding, the officer can give a verbal warning or write a ticket. One cannot automatically assume that the officer was acting out of a racial bias.

In the described situation, both families should be grateful that they were not handed criminal charges of possession of marijuana.

Good luck and best wishes. I hope that you find this information to be helpful and this answer to be ACCEPTable!
