I recd a ticket in Henry county, ILL in 1993 while enroute

Resolved Question:

I rec'd a ticket in Henry county, ILL in 1993 while enroute back to Calif; afterward, I assumed I had payed the fine but don't have any paper-work to proud that I pay.
This week I got a letter from a recovery company under contract for the state requesting I pay this fine.
My question is has the statute of limitation ran out on this ticket from 1993.

If you haven't paid the fine, you still owe it. Statutes of limitation do not run against the state or its sovereign entities. Therefore, the statute of limitations on this will never run out.
