we purchased a television series on dvd from a online store

Resolved Question:

we purchased a television series on dvd from a online store and the dvds are what appear to be "burned" and handwritten on the packaging is also "after market" the dvds when played have blemishes that enable the clear viewing of it. we wanted to know if that is a violation of copywrite laws and should we return them?
