I am a business owner limousine service, A residential country club has started scanning chauffeurs drivers license and saving to computer. When asked why they state it is a pokicy. They also state that the files are deleted within 24 hrs.

thank you. yes, there are no laws against it and many places in many states do it now.

 

while i am not sure the purpose, i can tell you the information is kept there to communicate the information quickly to someone who is not connected to the database. for example, police could quickly collect names, addresses and race of everyone passing a roadblock or boarding an airplane.

 

if you are very adverse to this policy, then you can take it up with your elected state officials in the General Assembly and see about a law prohibiting such a policy.
