We do not pay lease money, we are living on this place in exchange for mowing and looking after the place (security). The landlord is now threatening eviction. Can we be evicted and how long do we have to vacate the place?

Thank you for your question.

The landlord can terminate your occupancy with 30 days notice. At the expiration of the 30 days, if you do not vacate the property, the landlord can file an action to have you dispossessed from the property. You cannot be legally removed from the property absent a court order

What can we do to stop this process? We have done everything the landlord asked for.l He has not done several of the things he promised, including buying a new lawnmower. He just showed up today, and had his son-in-law call and tell us we need to be gone in 2 weeks. We have cows and are operating a business out of these premises.

If your landlord attempts to physically have you removed from the property, call 911. Your landlord is required to proceed judicially.
