I know a woman who's boyfriend is doing time in prison. He's appealing the charge and had a lawyer. Apparently the lawyer does not do appeals. They have no more money and have two children. Can he file as "indigent" and get a public defender? What options do they have. Orange County FLorida. Thanks,Concerned neighbor
hi
yes, he can do that. he needs to tell his case manager to place him on the list to speak with a public defender. he is under no obligation to tell the case manager what it is in reference to.
