I am currently in the process of purchasing a home, I was pre-approved and obtained early occupancy. The woman who I am purchasing the home from wrote out an eviction notice herself and claims she will be walking through my home tomorrow and says she has her own set of keys and will let herself in. She has also been contacting me by calling and text messaging and she has called my work, all times under restricted numbers. As of now the house is in eskrow. She is also threatening law suits against myself, my realty company and my insurance agent for not giving her the information she would like to obtain. Is she allowed to come into the house or have her own set of keys? Is she allowed to sue anyone of us for not giving her personal information? Is she supposed to be contacting me directly and if not does this qualify as Harassment?
who holds the deed to the home? you mentioned you are in the process of purchasing the home, this leads me to believe the sale has not occured yet.
The sale is not yet complete. so i believe that the deed would still be in her and her husbands name
ok, then as the owners of the home they are permitted to have keys to their home. You are effectively a tenant and as such so long as they provide advance notice they are able to enter their property.
but is she allowed to contact me personally? The first time she came she should up unannounced while i was working, and can she sue for us not giving her the information she requested
what information is she requesting?
in order to get approved for my loan I needed to pass an appraisal which included putting a new roof on the house and painting the exterior. She asked who put the roof on, but the work order is in my name not hers. She also wanted to know all of the names of the people who painted the house
since it is still her property she does have a right to know who performed the work on it.
