just received a letter from a law firm representing a CF Medical

Resolved Question:

just received a letter from a law firm representing a CF Medical LLC that acquired my debt. debt was from 12-2003 &3-2004. am i legally obligated to them since they are not the original debtor?

DearCustomer- If hey are the successor in interest to the debt then you would owe them. Debts are sold all the time at discounts to various collection agencies. Of course, in order to actually force you to pay they would have to file a suit and prove that they indeed own the debt and have a right to collect.
