In the state of texas how old does a child need to be able to refuse to go to the other parents on visitation weekends
Good afternoon,I'm sorry to hear of your dilemma. From a very technical standpoint, a child never has the RIGHT to refuse to participate in visitation. The courts take a dim view of a custodial parent allowing their child to refuse to go for visitation. Often the non-custodial parent will then petition the court to find the custodial parent in contempt--and many times the court agrees. While some children simply can not be controlled, you need to make every effort to convince your child that visitation is the right of the parent, not the option of the child.I wish you well.
Great customer to work with. Good articulation of the issues needing to be addressed. Thank you!!
