I've been on disability since August and since my money is tight i told my boss to use my vacation time to pay for my insurance. After speaking to him yesturday he told me hewas very slow with work and I told him I was thinking about going back to school. He then told me that my vacation would be a wash and I have to pay him for 3 months of insurance. Is he allowed to take my paid vacation away?
State/Country relating to Question: New Jersey Already Tried: nothing yet
No the employer is not allowed to retroactively take away vacation. The employer had to first inform you of any policy that would result in your vacation being forfeited and give you the option of whether you wanted to be under his employ with those conditions.
