I am a 74 year old African American doing business as a sole prioritior. My question is HOW can I continue a lawsuit that I filed in District Court on August 6, 2009, but unfortunately the Attorney that represented me did not honor my wishes and "refuse" to give a stated amount which I was seeking.Ricoh Copying Machine out and out FORGED a contract saying that I took out a ONE year service contract on a USED Copying machine costing $6,300. In fact what I took out was a FIVE year service contract 1t $695.00 per year. My bank, Bank Of The West sent to Ricoh a check for $10,000.00. Ricoh had one of its reps to stake out my office, which I left unlocked, and subsequently removed the receipt which I had in my RICOH files. Mr. David Schultz showed up the next day when I received a notice in the mail that my ONE YEAR service contract for $5,880.00 was due for renewal. When I reminded Mr. Schultz that his figures didn't match, he said to me DO YOU HAVE THE RECEIPT.
Thank you for contacting Just Answer. I look forward to assisting you.
While we write back and forth, please keep in mind that I do not know what you already know or don't know, or with what you need help, unless you tell me. Sometimes I'm unable to read your entire question until AFTER I write back to you.
Although it's usually five minutes, sometimes there can be a delay of an hour or more in between my answers because I may be researching the answer to your question, helping other customers, or taking a break. If we are writing late at night, I may have to go to sleep and resume helping you the following morning.
I need the following information before I can answer your question:
Can you please tell me what US state or country is involved in your question? I cannot see it on my screen right now. I may need to research your state-specific law.
I want to make sure I understand your question. So far, your attorney filed the case. Then, did you fire the attorney? Did he or she withdraw?
How else may I be of assistance?
I'll look forward to hearing from you,
Jane Doe Deer
The case is filed here in Albuquerque New Mexico Federal District.
No my Attorney did not withdraw, technically. My Attorney informed me that he was not qualified to represent me in District Court. The county here is Bernallio(probably misspelled) county. Ricoh Copying machine knew that I would not be able to find an attorney to represent me PRO BONO on this, thus they took the extrodinary chance of filing for a RELEASE from District Court, forcing me to find the necessary funds to hire a lawyer to represent me.

How may I help you?
Unless I can find $12,000.00 or someone willing to take this case PRO BONO, then I very well might have allowed CROOKS to 'brazenly" put me out of business. This should not happen. There should be more protection for a consumer like myself, especailly since I served this country for 33 years as an undercover agent for the FBI.
I'm totally lost as to what to do. I would be happy to mail you a copy of the lawsuit, which, when read, will leave no doubt as to WHO is telling the truth and who is fraudalently lying.
It's possible that a trial attorney (particularly, a newer, younger one) will take on this case as a contingency (commission) PROVIDED that some damages are available to you through the consumer protection laws.
You can look for trial attorneys through this organization, or maybe your current attorney can find someone with whom to associate: http://www.nmtla.org/NM/
Other than that, you may be able pursue this case yourself.
It may also not be too late to file a consumer protection complaint with NM:
and the feds: www.ftc.gov
Try very hard to get your attorney to find someone to take over the case for you. For example, it could be a smart law student who works under your attorney's supervision, and does all the work, for a decreased fee to your current attorney.
