My son has been married 10 years, They want to get divorce. Have 1 child. Equity in house is $90,000. Son is inherting $55,000 from deceased fathers selling of his home. Does he have to split it with his wife? He plans on giving her $45,000 for half the equity of the house. He wants to keep the house. Wife and daughter will move in with her 80 yr. old mother.
