I am a very hard working woman who have so much passion for trying to make a difference in the lives of patients I assist at work. I am very confident of my great performance but I am now facing a very unfair and biased situation at work. My first few months I've already encountered extreme discrimination and have definitely noticed how very partial my boss is to employees. Last week I was given a performance review which was the exact opposite of how I truly work. The discrimination continued and now I have definitely am sure that my boss is doing everything she can to convince the branch manager that I should be terminated. I have no formal complaints against me nor do I have any write ups at all. Patients have definitely gave good reviews. But I feel so powerless and almost as if just because I belong to the low income bracket and due to my ethnicity, these people find it so easy to just strip me off my rights. I hate feeling like rich companies can oppress people. What can I do?
State/Country relating to Question: California Already Tried: I've tried talking to my supervisor. But it is very obvious that the company goes by politics.
WHAT TYPE OF DISCRIMINATION IS IT BASED ON RACE, AGE OR SEX?
Im 25, asian female. . . One of the remarks made towards me was definitely of racial discrimination. But my concern is when I am wrongfully and unfairly evaluated and may lead to my termination, isn't there any law at all that helps people like me who are being judged and exposed to unfair treatment in a workplace? Thank you so much for your time.
YOU COULD BE FACING A POSSIBLE RACIAL AND ETHNIC DISCRIMINATION CASE, AND HOSTILE WORK ENVIRONMENT CASE, I WOULD WRITE A CERTIFIED LETTER TO THE HR OR SUPERVISOR AND ADVISE THEM HOW YOU FEEL, AND THAT YOU MAY BE CONSIDERING QUITTING BECAUSE OF THE HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT. MAKE SURE YOU DETAIL ANY RACIAL REMARKS. KEEP THIS LETTER, AND IF IT STILL CONTINUES, CONTACT THE LOCAL EEOC OFFICE, AND FILE A COMPLAINT. THEY WILL INVESTIGATE THE MATTER, AND HELP YOU WITH THE SITUATION.
