how do you get a person off the property deed after a divorce
State/Country relating to Question: Florida Already Tried: nothing yet because it wasn't a problem until recently, spouse wants to come and go as he pleases and try to rule the house which he does not live in
What state are you located in? Do you want to maintain sole ownership of the property, or do you want to sell the property and split the proceeds?
I live in Florida, yes I want his name off the deed
Unfortunately the only way to do so is to buy him out, and have him sign over a quit-claim on his interest of the property. Otherwise, as a legal co-owner of the property, he has the right to the proceeds and the assets. I wish I could give you a better answer, but other than a voluntary removal on his part, he cannot be taken off the deed. Sincerely, Dimitry Alexander Kaplun, Esq.
