What step do i need to take to resume custody of my children ? In 2006 my children went to Florida for summer vacation with there grandmother ,(My Mother in Law). That summer i was incarcerated and spent 2..5 years in prison on a drug charge. I have been recently releasted and now seeking to reunited with my children . I graduated a drug program of 1 year since my release , i'm currently in school to earn my GED, taking a parenting class n seeking full time employment. I've called several family courts in Florida and no court has my mother in law as there gaurdian I've gone to family court in my home town but they were un able to help i live over 900 miles away. What step do i need to take to legally gain custody of my children back
State/Country relating to Question: New York Already Tried: I called every family court house in Jacksonville Flordia and each one said that she nor my children are in the computer system, I also went to the family court in my home town and they were unable to help, Because they're not in New York.
