I thought i was off my probation period from my owi back in 2007. I got my license back in august of 2007. But I received a letter from the Iowa DOT saying that I violated my probation and want to suspend my licenses to 4-18-10. I got a speeding ticket in august of 2009. But looking at my previous letter it didn't state how long I was on probation. What to do?
State/Country relating to Question: Iowa Already Tried: Have not done anything yet. Just received the letter yesterday. I am considering sending the request of appeal form to contest the withdrawal of my driving privileges
Thanks for your question. You need a lawyer here to contest the suspension.I believe you have a right to an administrative hearing on the suspension. But you certainly will need to lawyer up as this affects your ability to get to and from work, etc. Also a hardship license if a definite possibility. The lawyer can plead your case for that too.Good luck here.
