My son was pulled over tonight leaving his friend's apartment. He had committed not traffic violations. He and his friend was searched and detained for approximately 30 Min. The officers also search my son's vehicle. How may I make formal complaint against the police department. I don't have the officer's name.
State/Country relating to Question: Oklahoma Already Tried: I was notified by my son at approx. 11:00 PM. So nothing.
Hi there: it's as simple as contacting the police department's non-emergency line and informing them that you wish to file a formal complaint against one of their officers. Law enforcement keeps track of where their officers are and who they have contact with at all times in case something happens to one of them; the police will be able to determine who the officer was that stopped your son. It's also ok to physically describe the officer to aid the department in their identification.
