Im a 19yr old college drop out and I recently moved out of my parents home. Before I moved out I was on my parents insurance because I was a full time college student. Half way through the semester I withdrew from all my classes. I didn't tell my parents and I pretended to go to school everyday. Well it came around the time where the insurance company wanted to see my transcript from school. I had to maintain a minimum of a 3.0 gpa. I still hadn't told my parents that I had dropped out. So I made a fraudulent progress report of my grades and gave it to my parents. They then asked me for months that I need to mail a sealed transcript. I stalled at every chance I could get. My mom called my school and lucky for me the admissions office was closed for the remaining month of summer. My mom faxed in my fraudulent grade sheet. The insurance accepted it and told my mom that when the admissions office opened up for fall 2009 semester that I would need to send in my sealed transcript. So as the time came nearer I knew I had to fess up because I couldn't bring myself to take my lie to a new level. So I just packed up my belongings and left home. I just want to know what kind of trouble could I be in with the insurance company. What kind of consequences am I looking at?
Hi there: at worst, this would be misdemeanor insurance Fraud. You could expect to be fined a few hundred bucks, but no jail time; not even time picking up trash along the highway. You may want to just consider coming clean with your parents; if they cancel the policy now, the insurance company will probably have no interest in looking into this any further.

Yeah my parents already know, and I would hope they already cancelled the policy (I'm almost certain they did) it's been about a month since this all ensued. My mom just left me a message a few hours ago saying "we have problem" in a very very worried tone, I could hear her voice crack a little. So the worst thing that I could think of that I've done would be this whole forging of my grades. Im still hoping this isn't why my mom is worried but I was just in a panic thinking that my parents would be held somewhat responsible even though they had NO idea. Thank You very much for your answer. I feel somewhat at ease. Thanks a lot
