I am in the process of answering a foreclosure summons complaint form. I live in New York. I need to know how to answer the essay which states "Other Facts Concerning your Mortgage, Your Home, or other Defenses or Counter Claims:" Is it best to be very extensive and detailed telling about my hardships or is it better to keep it simple and brief ?
State/Country relating to Question: New York Already Tried: I am working with a HUD approved housing services organization that is assisting me with the modification process with my bank. The coordinator referred me to a free legal services agency, who informed me that they're not taking any more cases before Oct.5, 2009. They then sent me back to Supreme Court, to the office of the Self-Represented. The worker there was not definitive, clear, or trustworthy enough. I left with the paperwork to file for myself. However, I was served the summons, it was in my mailbox without an envelope on the 27th of Aug. but they listed on the summons that it was served on the 26th, and that I have 30 days to answer it. Is that 30 business days?
