Hi,

My girlfriend is here illegally for the past 10 year. We have know each other for sometimes now. She is a divorced mother of 4 kids (US born) and business owner. Custom Officer allowed her entry even though her visa was invalid. She decided to stay and established a family. Each day, she is fearful that ICE will come. She recently received her drivers license. I am in love with her and do not want to lose part of my life. What can we do?

I am a US citizen. I am currently unemployed, but I am a business owner for the last 5 years.

Her first marriage was to a US citizen. Due to the divorce after over 3 years, the paperwork did not process. He second marriage was to a non-citizen. This divorce was spousal abused. Now she is threatening her if her status constantly.

I am sorry to hear that your girlfriend is going through such difficulty.

One of the simplest ways for your girlfriend to stay is for her to marry a US citizen and file the paperwork for a provisional green card. Otherwise she may consider filing for asylum.
