I work for the State of WV and received an evaluation that I felt was unjust. I then refused to sign it. I was later brought in and in front of one witness told that if I did not sign it I would be suspended. Didn't they violate my rights?
Already Tried: No action on this issue. The evaluation is untimely and covers a 34 month period unstead of the normal 12 as outlined in the adminstrative rule. Since filing papers asking to be reclassified I have been subject to an unkind evaluation, a written repremand, and verbal abuse in front of witnesses.
Hello, You are under no obligation to sign your evaluation, but the state can suspend you at will if you do not follow what they request of you - they haven't breached any laws by doing this. So, you don't have to sign, but they can let you go. However, a detailed letter of the events over their heads to management will usually dissolve the situation. Best of luck in your matter!
