I hired a sub publisher to publish 2 books. Hence, I followed the contract. But, they refused to pay royalties to me. How much money are we talking about? In June 2006 both books made $29,322,998.00, I understood I had to wait for my account to closed in case of any returns. Well, none of these were returned. And, I closed my account 31 MAR 2008. Although I have written and mailed certified and registered letters to the appropriate people I have been ignored. What should I do?

Hello, and thank you for contacting the just answer team. Was there a contract that included royalties paid to you? Also, what state is this in?Thanks
Yes, there was a contract with royalities paid to me as a publisher only after my account was closed to ensure no returns on my account and the state is Ohio where the sub-publishing company is located.
Thank you for the extra information. In that case, you should bring a breach of contract claim against them in state of Ohio court. This sounds as if it could be a significant claim, and so finding an attorney to assist you shouldn't be too difficult. Although there are no guarantees when it comes to the legal system, it sounds, based on the information provided, as if you have a very good breach of contract claim for all of the royalties. I would contact an attorney in your area immediately. For a referral, you can contact the Ohio State Bar Association HERE. I hope this helps, and thank you for the opportunity to answer your question. If you have any follow up questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Otherwise, please remember to click the green ACCEPT button so that I can receive credit for my work. Take care
