What Customers are Saying

  • My first experience with Just Answer has been better than I ever thought possible. I had a fairly complex legal question regarding Medicare provider regulations. For a week I had been trying to find an attorney familiar with Medicare but to no avail. I really didn't expect anyone at Just Answer to know anything about this issue. Yet the attorney who answered my question, Dimitry Alexander Kaplun, Esq., not only answered the question but cited the specific Medicare regulation in question. For six years, I was a Westlaw representative so I've worked with hundreds of attorneys. Some attorneys are knowledgable and some aren't, especially about administrative law. But Mr. Kaplun clearly had an exceptional understanding of the issue and was able to explain it concisely. I would recommend Just Answer to anyone. Great service that lives up to it's promises!

I was fired on April 2009. AFter a few arguments with my manager

Customer Question

I was fired on April 2009. AFter a few arguments with my manager over food being left in the refrigerator, a few weeks later I was written up on several false claims - sleeping on the job, not being at my post, etc... which as a security officer, if the claims were true, should have been caught on camera. I work very hard but I was wrongfully fired over false claims and I even challenged them to show proof on tape. Please help me..

Response From Expert

It sounds like you may have a valid claim over retaliation and wrongful termination. What state are you in so I can look up the agency that can help you?

Expert's Answer

Contact the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Their link is here:
http://www.eeoc.gov/sanfrancisco/area.html

Be aware that you only have 180 to file from the alleged date of the wrongful termination based on retaliation.

Good luck!

Sincerely,

Dimitry Alexander Kaplun, Esq.

Expert's Answer

oh, I am sorry. I meant to type "180 days" to file. In other words, if you were retaliated against in April, you are getting very close to the 180 days in which you can file a formal complaint so I suggest you do not delay and contact them right away.

Sincerely,

Dimitry Alexander Kaplun, Esq.

do i need a lawyer? if yes, can you recommend a lawyer that doesn't require payment right away but will agree to get payment after there is a settlement?

Accepted Answer

To speak to the EEOC, you do not quite need a lawyer. You can have one, but to file a complaint you can do it yourself and save yourself some money.

If you get what is called a "right to sue" letter from the EEOC, then you would need representation.

Sincerely,

Dimitry Alexander Kaplun, Esq.
