i had an email in my draft box... mostly venting towards a volunteer at my granddaughters school unfortunatley, i send everything in my draft box and the woman received the email Her husband linked the IP address back to my daughter... she often uses my PC for email correspondence what are the legal steps this parent can take? what can to school do to me? It sounds like you are in an unfortunate situation, but likely the only consequence is going to be tense feelings between yourself and the volunteer.
As long as the email was sent only to the person you were talking about (or only alleged things that you believe to be true), and did not threaten any sort of violence, physical, emotional or financial harm, you should not have to worry about any sort of criminal charges or law suits. The school itself could ask that you say away from this person or refrain from talking to this person in the future, but it is probably unlikely that much else will happen.
