I was coersed into transferring the title to my mobile home without a bill of sale. now they are refusing to pay me what they owe me. is the transfer legal withou the bill of sale? and what can i do to stop this injustice?
State/Country relating to Question: Pennsylvania Already Tried: nothing, just found out, the title was done on 9/2
When you transferred the title, were you given any money?
I was given 4 hundred dollars and the rest was supposed to come later.
IF they do not pay you the full agreed value of the contract, then the transfer is invalid (even if it is an oral contract). It appears to me that whoever got you to do this was intent upon scamming you and committing Fraud -- the $400 is nowhere near what you could have and should have gotten for this property. And yes, you are also supposed to give a bill of sale with the transfer, but many people donot know that and the bill is not required to change ownership with the registry. You should contact your local police department and tell them that you beleive you have been a victim of fraud. They should take action on your behalf and investigate the matter, and if nothing else, the other party will either come up with the remainder of the money fast or give you back the title. DO NOT WASTE ANY MORE TIME ON THIS -- GET RIGHT TO THE POLICE STATION! The longer you wait, the worse this will look for you. If they have changed the ownership through the registry of MV, also contact their fraud division unit. Tell them everything you tell the police department. These are your best avenues for recovering either the title or the money quickly. Any type of lawsuit will take too long and you will never get anything. Good Luck. Please press the GREEN ACCEPT BUTTON so I will receive credit for my time. Thanks.
