When I applied for a mortagage my bank mailed my credit card information along with the pre-qualification letter to another party. They called me right away and mailed me a letter a week later. They never even apoligized or offered any steps they would take to protect my credit. They just told me what steps I neede to take in order to protect myself, which could delay my applying for credit or mortages etc. They told me they had to notify the Massachusetts Attorney General Office but they never gave me a copy of the notice or a # XXXXX the report. In short they have been very unprofessional. They made the mistake and now they tell me to fix it. I'm pretty angry, it has been about 11 days since this happened. Do I have any legal recourse?
State/Country relating to Question: Massachusetts Already Tried: I went in and talked to the Mortgate Processor and asked him what steps they werre going to take and he gave me no answer only that a letter would be sent to me when I got the letter ther was no admisson on their mistake or apology. It was a letter theat I looked up on the Att.Gen. office with one exception they omitted the last paragaraph which said they shoul consider providing other information including but not limited to fraud alerts, reee credit monitoring, the need to review credit credit cards. They never mentioned this in their letter!!!
