I need to request the actual context of text messages that were sent and received by a cell phone that is in my name. I also need to request the same information from a cell phone that is not in my name. This is for a court custody case in Alabama and I am not able to afford an attorney. I need to know he steps involved in getting a subpeona for this information. I havealready talked to my cell service provider and they told me that it would be needed even if the account is in my name. Thanks, Jeff

If you had a lawyer, he would issue a subpoena. If you do not have a lawyer, you need to go to court and have self represented clerk fill it out and submit it to the judge for signature.
Who would be considerd the "self represented clerk"? Would this just be the court clerk or would there be someone more specific? I was also told that the judge does dot need to sign off on a subpoena that is a request for information.
The court clerk who aid pro se litigants. When you go to court there should be several clerks assigned for this purpose. The judge does not need to sign off if it is issued by your lawyer.
