Is there a law preventing people from holding graphic photos of mutilated fetuses and babies on 5x5 foot signs on every street corner in front of children? And when you ask them to turn it so that you can protect you children from the photos, they instead turn it completely toward the children? Although these are anti abortionists doing the sign holding, this has nothing to do with that, only my right to choose what my child should or should not be subjected to. Even a printed sign wouldn't bother me, only the graphic ones.
State/Country relating to Question: Washington Already Tried: Was told I can't do anything "freedom of speech". I need to know an RCW so I can start filing charges and or restraining orders against these guys from holding these specific signs.
Unfortunately this is likley to be protected under the 1st Amendment. The signs are effectively a political statement and the right to exhibit them is highly protected under the 1st Amendment. Your only hope is to determine if the sign (not the content) violates some ordinance. For example it may be that the city prohibits these type of signs on corners, or the signs represent an extreme hazard..
You can try to get the timing of when the signs are dispalye adusted e.g only when kids are in school. Yo will not be able to eaily get the signs banned entirely.
