The company I lease my vehicle through (Saturn) in which I have entered into a payment extension due to having lost my job a while ago (I am since employed and will be able to make payments) took electronic payments from my bank (two) and now nearly a two months later, after telling me every thing was fine, sending me the extension papers, calls me up and tells me they are going to take my car! I finally got that straightened out, only now to be going through the whole thing all over again three weeks later.... they say they haven't gotten their money. The bank says all the money has been cleared and paid to them, they say they haven't gotten it and they are going to repossess my vehicle (a lease) and I only have 5 pavements left. I'm getting pushed to different people all through GMAC and no one is giving me a straight answer. Advice?
State/Country relating to Question: Wisconsin Already Tried: Documenting Who/What/When Asking to speak to Supervisors Speaking to the Bank to confirm transaction Asked bank if they'd be willing to fax copies of specific transactions to GMAC - they wouldn't they'd fax entire statement un-redacted.
Thank you for using JustAnswer! Do you have proof of all your bank payments (statements, printouts, something concrete)?
"Do you have all you bank statements, printouts, etc" - I have electronic statements but I am able to print them out showing payment made in both instances.
And what's happened when you've spoken with GMAC supervisors?
I've been told that the "checks" bounced, that they've not received any money, the first time it happened I explained it too the person who called and she gave me her name and we "straightened" it out and she assured me everything was taken care of, now here we are 3 weeks later and I am dealing with someone completely different, and he called asking when it would be a good time for him to come take possession of my car. I called the number, got ahold of a customer service person tried to explain the situation, explained that to the best of my understanding of Wisconsin Law you can't just come seize someone's car and that ended all pretense of politeness, ended up speaking to her "supervisor" (I bet it wasn't") explained the whole thing all over again - they all insist the same thing - that I've bounced two checks even though I have told them I haven't - that the bank confirms I haven't. I am now on hold with the person who supposedly has my case... a Mr. Tom Arnold for the past 40 minutes. Nothing but dead air.
Try to get an e-mail address where you can e-mail them a copy of your online statements to show that the money has cleared. It's much better to deal with these things via e-mail instead of telephone because then you have a papertrail.
