I am now in a building that has bedbugs, the landlord was informed or several occasions. She refused to acknowledge that the tenant which moved from one apt to another was the cause. Since, myself and other has issued complaints against her with the township she has sent me a notice of eviction, what recourse can I take?
State/Country relating to Question: Pennsylvania Already Tried: Called the Township of Delware,Congressman Office, Penn. LandLord Tentent Office,CDC,Pennsylvanias' Health Dept: to be to told that there is nothing they could do about bedbugs. However, I was advised by the CDC, to contat the Justice Dept. Since, this does come under their dept.

Response: Do not move. Let her file eviction action in Court in order to remove you. You would defend the eviction action by showing that it is retaliatory because you exercised your rights to live in a bug free apartment. You also need to request that the Court order her to fix the bedbugs problem or declare that you are entitled to withhold rent until the Landlord treats the bedbugs.
