I live in the state of New Hampshire, and my mother's car was repossed, and we have reciepts saying the car was paid in full. Now the guy we bought the car from is saying we have 12 days to come up with $900.00 to get the car back, and he is saying that all that was owed was $600.00 to begin with. What can I do, I do have full Power of Attorney over my mother.
State/Country relating to Question: New Hampshire Already Tried: we have been on the phone everyday, showing our reciepts to him, and brought in the woman that co-signed with my mother.
If you have reciepts to back up your claim, uoi can file a lawsuit, for return of either the car, plus damages, or return of your money. There is a cause of action for "Conversion" for wrongful repossession. That is what you have to do, sue for conversion based on wrongful repossession
