Hi, Mr. R. Holloman (if available): Sometime ago, you assisted me most satisfactorily and provided a solution and a perfect answer to a question regarding my business. I am contacting you today with another question. I have just published a web site (not yet publicized) in which a "Happy Client" list is included. My question is, is it permisable to publish this list with first names only, thereby not specifically divulging the full identify of the client? To better understand my question, please visit my site: www.RefundRecoveryService.com and click on Happy Clients. Thanks in advance for your expert advice. Shirley - XXX-XXX-XXXX or XXX-XXX-XXXX.
State/Country relating to Question: Colorado Already Tried: Am waiting to publish web site pending receipt of your advice regarding the legality of publishing a client list using first names only. Is this okay?
Yes you can publish first names only, the point here is that you just cannot publish information so that a person whom has not given his/her consent to be used on your website would be identified. First names are fine.
Hey, Mr. Holloman:Did you view my website? Did you notice that along with the first names, the general metro Denver location and amount of refund is included? Is this still okay? Sure hope so.
Yes that is permissible.
Thank you for your response and advice - what a relief!I shall proceed with the publishing of my web site with theknowledge that I won't get into trouble!Shirley
Best of luck with the website.
