for months a woman has stated that my son is the father of her, at that time, unborn child. her due date was 8/2/09. we don't know if she has had baby, she refuses to answer any calls from him or myself. how can we find out if this child is his or not? do we just wait until she decides to make a move? my son wants to know if he is a father or not.

<p>DearCustomer- He can file a paternity action against her in the local juvenile or family court and request a paternity test. Obviously there must be child but, assuming she has given birth he has a right to know if he is the father. There is no affirmative duty to file anything so if he wants to wait until she does something that is also legal.</p><p> </p><p>Keep in mind that if the child is his then he will not only have all parental rights he will also have the responsibility of support.</p><p> </p><p>Dave Kennett</p>
