After attending school for four years 50K in student loans the college i attend told i was qualfied for a degree in teaching and refused ti allow to complete my training. Can i qualify for loan forgivness.
State/Country relating to Question: Florida
Why did they refuse to allow you to complete your training?
Failed the final requirement three times. Was working on a teachers degree. Had personal issues the last two times I tried. The director of the college refused to allow to to take the class again and told me the board did not believe I qualifactions to get a teaching degree.
Unfortunately, the loan forgiveness program in Florida, would not apply to you. It is for those that have acquired a teaching degree and fulfill certain requirements, through service, at schools. While you had personal issues, the school certainly gave you an opportunity to fulfill the necessary requirements. The loans you took, were not conditional on passing the final requirement. Those are loans that you will have to pay. Another option, would be to see if your credits would transfer and you could complete the necessary classes for your degree.
