how does a single mother who has been abused for years and the law never arrests this man along with him leaving brusies on your child and has stolen money from you for years and personnel items that you are still paying for get any justice, especially when you know longer trust anyone in this town
State/Country of Question: Tennessee Already Tried: i was told that even though they never done anything that i can still file charges for assualt but the thing is he gets away with everything and that i could file a suit in court but know that with all the eveidence if i do this alone i will loose and been trying to find a lawyer around here has been really hard plus the da wont return my call
hi
if you have made reports to the police and nothing has been done to see that criminal charges are filed, then you should call your district attorney in the county where you live. explain what is going on and have them discuss the matter with the police and why they are not filing charges. you also can contact child protective services in your county and let them know that the child is being abused and the police will not take a report
the da refuses to return my calls and dha has been to my home several times and this man still gets nothing
thank you for that information. if you want to consult with a local attorney then you can contact the TN Bar Assocation and seek a referral. if the DA will not return your phone calls then you can go the Magistrate in the court and ask to fill out a statement of charges and have the magistrate issue a subpoena for a hearing on these charges. this is a terrible situation for you because no one wants to listen. the other thing you can do is when an assault occurs, go to the hospital and let them report it to the police.
