I was in partnership with another Financial Advisor. Due to mostly sexual Harassment, I terminated the partnership. Now the other advisor is telling our clients that I took money and did not invest it and that I am out of business. This is absolutely not true. I sent him an e-mail to tell him what I had heard and that we should remain professional. I received not reply. I live and work in a very small community and this could damage my future business opportunities. Is there any thing I can do?
State/Country of Question: Washington Already Tried: I have only sent him an e-mail making him aware of what I heard and who I heard it from and that we should maintain professionalizm in this matter.
You can have a lawyer send him a letter to cease such conduct or be sued for slander and tortious interference with business. You can further sue on those ground for an injunction and money damages for your lost business and legal fees.
