I had one conviction on my criminal record. A very stupid mistake. I paid all the fines and costs and received a letter several months ago stating that it had been removed (expunged) permanently from my record. Does this mean it will not show up when an employer runs a background check on me? Will my record really be clean? Thank you in advance for your answers.
State/Country of Question: Iowa Already Tried: A class D felony
HelloCustomerIf your record was expunged it will not show up when an employer runs a background check. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, which also covers employment background checks into criminal records, this is a record that is not accessible. In fact, if a police department were required to fill out a NAC, National Agency Check, they would list no records of convictions for an expunged record.
