I am a contractor overseas. I share portable building with another contractor and we share a bathroom which is between our quarters. She has made a number of false (and irrational)complaints to my employer concerning my behavior that have led to written counselings and could, if it happens again, cost me my job. If I lose my job based on her false statements (made in writing) can i sue her for loss of income? Our company is currently downsizing and would probably fire both of us because of this, in order to not be held liable for the situation themselves.
Probably not because your employer would have to give that as a reason for firing you and you would have to prove it. Most likely your employer will claim downsizing and you will have no case against her unless you can prove otherwise, and that would be very difficult. If I've helped, please click ACCEPT so I can get credit for my work.
