I am retiring from one school district in NY and will receive health insurance benefits from my prior school district (NY) since I did not have sufficient years in the present district to vest benefits. My question - how is my share of the health insurance benefits decided? Is it the amount in the teacher's contract that was in effect when I left my prior district or the contract that is presently in effect?

it will be the contract that was in effect when you left. But be advised that the contract you had may have had a provision in it permitting amendment, in which case the current contract terms would govern.
