Customer Question

after a neighbor, who did not recognise my son, called 911 to report a vagrant (?), he was taken from his front porch to the hospital where he was forced to undergo blood and urine test for drug use. I received a bill from the hospital for $4000. What are my options for telling them to shove it?

Optional Information:
State/Country of Question: Texas

Already Tried:
I don't want to take any actions until I speak with an attorney concerning my options if I decide to ignore their bill.

how old is your son and was he under the influence when taking to the hospital?

Customer replied 1021 days and 17 hours ago.

20, student at UT Austin, not under influence of alcohol or drugs, as proven by hospital tests.

assuming that your son indicated that he was entitled to dwell on your porch and had ID on him he attempted to show the police, your recourse would be against the police department and the neighbor. If the police ordered the tests, the hospital could not refuse to perform the tests.

he had no id. it was at his friends house, which was why he was sitting on the porch, waiting for his friend to bring him his wallet, his keys, and his cell phone. I was unaware that we now live in a Nazi state that allows police to order medical testing on citizens for no reason other than failure to carry an id card while sitting in front of his own apartment. thank you for clearing that up for me.
