State Death Taxes in Texas

Resolved Question:

State Death Taxes in Texas
Submitted: 7 years ago.
Category: Legal
Expert:  Thomas McJD replied 7 years ago.
Texas's inheritance tax laws are tied to federal state estate tax credit, which since 2005 doesn't exist. Therefore, no Texas inheritance tax return is required for deaths after Jan. 1, 2005.

This may change for deaths on or after Jan 1, 2011.
