We purchased a vehicle over a year ago and are still current

Customer Question

We purchased a vehicle over a year ago and are still current on the payment within 2 weeks. Every time we are a little behind(the most has been 30 days) they call threatening to repo the car within 2 weeks. Is this legal or harassment? We have never gone past 30 days and still made double payments that month to catch up.

Hello,

Unfortunately the lender can repossess the vehicle if a payment is late. Typically a lender will wait at least 30 days but is not so required to wait. As per the UCC any repossession must be without a breach of the peace,
